Description: Officer Butler was shot while working in plainclothes with his partner in a residential neighborhood in response to individuals discharging firearms. A man approached them and demanded to know who they were. The officers identified themselves as police officers and were immediately fired upon by several suspects from ambush. Officer Butler died at the scene.
