Description: Deputy Sheriff Butcher fell to his death from a bridge over the Glen Alum Creek while trying to escape gunfire by a suspect. Deputy Butcher was attempting to serve a warrant on a liquor charge when the suspect pulled a rifle and began shooting. The suspect was captured two years later and charged with murder.
