Description: Deputy Burdette succumbed to injuries sustained several hours prior when he was struck by a vehicle on SC-81, near the intersection of Hayes Road. Deputy Burdette had just finished his shift and was on his way home in his department cruiser when he came across a disabled vehicle. While directing traffic around the disabled vehicle, Deputy Burdette was struck and killed by another passing vehicle.
