Description: Officer Beets and Captain Charles Gougenheim were shot and killed in an act of retaliation by a drunken man who was angry at police for arresting his sister earlier that same day. The two officers had observed two other drunken men outside of a bar when they stopped to investigate. The man who shot them worked as a cook at the bar.
