Description: On March 25, 1936, Officer Bennett was bitten by a dog while on patrol. Officer Bennett had picked up the dog to turn over to the pound as part of a county-wide effort to eliminate unlicensed animals. Officer Bennett was diagnosed with rabies too late to be treated and died on April 27, 1936.
