Description: Detective Betancourt was off duty when he was stabbed to death as he attempted to stop a friends crazed boyfriend from entering her house. The suspect pulled a knife and stabbed Detective Betancourt as he attempted to arrest him for trespassing. Although off-duty, the New York City Police Department has deemed Detective Betancourt's murder a line of duty death.
