Description: Deputy Marshal Bathurst and Officer Stingley attempted to arrest two men for disorderly conduct. One of the suspects attempted to attack marshal Stingley with a knife and was fatally shot by the Marshal. The second man produced a gun and shot Deputy Marshal Bathurst. Officer Stingley was fatally wounded and died the next day.
