Description: Officer Brown was attempting to arrest a suspect who knocked him to the ground and tried to run but Officer Brown struck the suspect unconscious with his baton. Officer Brown took the suspect to the station and returned to his post. Soon afterwards, he returned to the station feeling ill. A physician gave him whiskey and strychnine to stimulate his heart and sent him home. Officer Brown died an hour later of a ruptured spleen. A coroner's jury ruled the death an accident.
