Description: Officer Buchanan and Officer Jackson were making their rounds through the local railroad yards, when they encountered three men. When the officers questioned the men, they were challenged by one of the men who had a pistol. Both officers were ordered to raise their hands; when they did so, they were both shot. Officer Buchanan was killed instantly. Officer Jackson was shot in the hip but recovered from his injuries.
