Description: Correctional Officer Biendl was strangled to death by an inmate who was attempting to escape from the Washington State Reformatory. After Officer Biendl failed to turn in her equipment at the end of her shift, a search was initiated by the staff. Officer Biendl was found unresponsive in the prison??®s chapel. Officer Biendl was pronounced dead at the scene. The inmate was taken into custody.
