Description: Sergeant Balcombe was shot and killed in South Korea by one of her own soldiers after she responded to a call where several military personnel were drunk and causing a disturbance. One suspect was upset that Sergeant Balcombe had ordered a blood test on him and his friends. The suspect overcame a Korean security guard, and stole the guard's weapon. Sergeant Balcombe was shot three times, including once in the head. The shooting took place at the U.S. Military Police Corps, Camp Red Cloud, in Korea. Sergeant Balcombe placed herself between the soldier and innocent bystanders and was killed in the performance of her duties.
