Description: Officer Blakey fell down a flight of stairs while attempting to apprehend an escaping felon. Although he had broken his ankle, Officer Blakey continued to run after the felon. Officer Blakey was hospitalized for a week before lapsing into a coma and never regained consciousness. Officer Blakey died from complications of the injury six weeks later.
