Description: Detective Bitner was struck and killed by a drunk driver while conducting a traffic stop. Detective Bitner was issuing a traffic citation when the driver of a SUV veered into the lane and struck him. Detective Bitner was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect driver fled the scene and was later apprehended by law enforcement officers.
