Description: Officer Big Knife was shot and killed as he and a group of U.S. Indian officers went to the Quapaw Reservation to evict members of a family that had been removed but returned. As the officers approached the house, a man opened fire on the officers with a shotgun striking officer Big Knife in the head killing him. The man was convicted of first degree murder.
