Description: Deputy Branson and Deputy Oce Sanders were transporting a prisoner from Adair to Pryor in a horse-drawn buggy. The horse was startled by a passing train and bolted. The buggy overturned, injuring both deputies. Deputy Branson suffered a head injury and remained unconscious until his death two days later. Deputy Sanders survived his injuries.
