Description: Deputy Burkett and Officer Joe Miller were extraditing a prisoner from Pennsylvania to West Virginia when their cruiser was struck head-on in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Deputy Burkett was seated in the passenger seat when the suspect, under the influence of drugs, entered the highway by driving up an exit ramp. Deputy Burkett was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputy Miller and the prisoner were both injured.
