Description: Constables Bodenheimer and Robert Kennedy stopped a motorist on US-29 for driving erratically. Constable Kennedy was standing beside the car when another car struck him, then the patrol car. Constable Kennedy was killed instantly. Constable Bodenheimer, who was in the patrol car, died three days later of a fractured skull. The driver was charged with manslaughter.
