Description: Special Officer Barber was shot as he attempted to remove a disorderly passenger from a bus. When Officer Barber arrested the passenger, a crowd quickly gathered and began throwing rocks. The passenger fled with Officer Barber in pursuit. When Officer Barber captured the passenger, a man stepped forward and fatally shot Officer Barber in the chest. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
