Description: Patrolman Browning was shot in the abdomen while investigating a call concerning a man with a gun. The suspect went on a rampage, shooting at citizens and wounding Officer Joe Mixon, who survived. The suspect was shot and killed by lawmen. Patrolman Browning died of his injuries the next day.
