Description: Deputy Burton responded to a traffic accident where a tractor-trailer had overturned on Peach Orchard Road. While directing traffic around the accident scene, Deputy Burton was struck by another vehicle. Deputy Burton was thrown more than 35 feet and was transported to a local hospital with severe head injuries. Deputy Burton remained in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries two days later.
