Description: Deputies Blair and Charles Lathrop accompanied a search party on a mission to arrest a man wanted for the murder of Deputies Albert Elmer and Colin McKenzie. The lawmen surrounded the cabin of the suspect. Unknown to them, the suspect was hiding in the woods. The suspect opened fire, fatally wounding Deputy Blair and Deputy Charles Lathrop. The remaining officers returned fire and killed the suspect.
