Description: Patrolman Brooks accidentally shot himself with his own gun while conducting a search in a cave for robbery suspects. Patrolman Brooks and fellow officers were searching a cave for tramps suspected of freight car robberies. As Patrolman Brooks crawled out of the cave, his revolver fell from its holster and discharged, striking him in the chest. Patrolman Brooks was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
