Description: Sheriff Brown and his deputies left Corpus Christi for Brownsville with four prisoners in custody. They stopped for lunch in Pensacola. As Sheriff Brown sat down, his revolver accidentally discharged. The bullet entered his thigh and exited below the knee, severing an artery. Sheriff Brown bled to death within minutes.
