Description: <p>Corporal Beck was killed in an automobile accident while returning home from an extra duty assignment. A truck stopped suddenly at a railroad crossing causing Officer Beck's patrol unit to crash into the vehicle. Corporal Beck was transported by the East Baton Rouge Parish EMS to Earl K. Long Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His K9 partner, Xander, was not injured in the crash and is now working with another handler.</p>
