Description: Sergeant Bishop succumbed to complications of a gunshot wound sustained 16 years earlier while responding to a domestic disturbance call. While attempting to arrest the suspect for shooting his wife, Sergeant Bishop was shot in the spine below his vest. Sergeant Bishop was paralyzed from the waist down and died sixteen years later. The offender was sentenced to 70 years in prison for wounding his wife and shooting Sergeant Bishop.
