Description: Officer Brown succumbed to injuries he sustained two weeks earlier when his patrol unit was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Officer Brown was responding to a burglary-in-progress at the Lakewood Rail Station in Atlanta, when the collision occurred. The suspect ran a red light causing Officer Brown to swerve and strike a concrete pillar. Officer Brown was transported to the hospital where he remained in a coma and died of massive head injuries two weeks later.
