Description: Officer Burke was electrocuted due to a system-wide short circuit in the police call boxes throughout the city. When Officer Burke placed his key in the lock of the call box, he was knocked unconscious and suffered severe burns to his hands. Officer Burke died of his injuries 14 months later. Officers Nicholas Beckman and John Looney were also killed in this incident and 13 other officers were injured.
