Description: Officer Briggs was shot when he and his partner responded to a domestic disturbance call. The officers located one of the suspects who was involved in the disturbance. Officer Briggs was shot in the head as he approached the suspect. Officer Briggs was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the next day. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.
