Description: Sheriff Blankenship was transporting a person from the scene of an accident when he had trouble shifting gears on a hill and rolled backwards into the following car. Upon exiting the driver's side of the car, he was struck by another vehicle and thrown nine feet by the impact. Sheriff Blankenship died later in the day at Providence Hospital in Seattle. Sheriff Blankenship is the brother of Sheriff Daniel Blankenship, Panel 16 E, L 13.
