Description: Trooper Butterfield was shot while conducting a traffic stop. Trooper Butterfield was shot in the head by the occupants of the vehicle. The suspects fled the scene and were later apprehended. Trooper Butterfield was transported to a nearby hospital where he died while undergoing surgery.
