Description: Officer Braithwaite was struck and killed in a motorcycle accident while en route to department headquarters. While traveling on his personal bike, he was struck head-on by a Ford van whose driver fled on foot. Officer Braithwaite's body landed in the northbound lanes of US Highway 17-92 where he was fatally struck again by a flatbed truck carrying sod.
