Description: Officer Brightwell stopped car for a traffic violation and was shot by the occupants who had just robbed and killed a gas station attendant. Officer Brightwell was shot with his own gun three times in the chest and once in the jaw. His K-9 partner, Prince, was not harmed. Both suspects were convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
