Description: Deputy Sheriff Bogart was shot as he attempted to place a bootlegging suspect into custody at the county jail. The suspect pulled a revolver and shot Deputy Bogart once in the chest. Deputy Bogart, although mortally wounded, returned fire and killed the suspect. Deputy Bogart died at the scene.
