Description: Patrolman Bergquist and Officer Ellsworth Johnson responded to a burglary in progress call at a local plumbing company. Upon arrival, the officers observed a suspect attempting to pry open the back door with a crowbar. The suspect shot Patrolman Bergquist twice in the back as he attempted to take cover. One suspect was killed when Officer Johnson returned fire. Patrolman Bergquist was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
