Description: Officer Burns was trying to prevent a hold-up when he was shot in the chest. Officer Burns was taken to the Orange Hospital where he died on the operating table as doctors tried to remove two .25 caliber bullets from his chest. One of the bandits was later identified at the hospital by eyewitnesses, as he had come in with a gunshot wound, feigning involvement in a mugging.
