Description: Chief of Police Burch was fatally injured in a single-vehicle automobile crash while in a high-speed pursuit of a suspected thief. Chief Burch swerved to avoid another car when he lost control of his automobile, skidded on the pavement and overturned. Chief Burch suffered a fractured skull and a broken neck and died en route to the hospital.
