Description: While off-duty, Corporal Bell assisted another officer in preventing a man from jumping off the bridge. In the incident, Corporal Bell injured his back. During surgery for the injury he received a blood transfusion tainted with AIDS and died of AIDS-related pneumonia 13 years later.
