Description: Correctional Officer Barchey was killed in a vehicle crash while transporting 22 prisoners from the State Prison Complex in Phoenix. The prison transport bus was struck head-on by a semi-truck that had veered out of control on the rain-slickened road. Correctional Officer Grant, who was driving the bus, sustained severe injuries but survived the incident. The driver of the tractor trailer died in the crash.
