Description: City Marshal Blassingame was shot and killed while being held up on a railroad platform. City Marshal Blassingame was approached by two men asking about a freight train. One of the men grabbed him from behind and the other pulled out a gun. City Marshal Blassingame was able to break free and pulled out his gun, killing one of the men. The other man returned fire, shooting the city marshal in the stomach. City Marshal Blassingame succumbed to his injuries three weeks later.
