Description: Deputy Badger drowned while attempting to save a family whose wagon had overturned as they attempted to cross the Weber River. Deputy Badger was able to save the parents and four of the children. Deputy Badger returned to the river and succeeded in reaching the two remaining children. Despite all of his efforts, all three were washed away by the river's current. Eighteen months passed before Deputy Badger's body was recovered from the river.
