Description: Patrolman Beam suffered a fatal heart attack after attempting to arrest an intoxicated suspect who was causing a public disturbance. Patrolman Beam responded to burglary call and located the suspect sleeping near the residence. When Patrolman Beam awakened the suspect, the suspect responded violently. He fought Patrolman Beam and fled the scene. Patrolman Beam ran back to his patrol car and radioed for backup. His partner arrived at the scene to find Patrolman Beam slumped behind the wheel.
