Description: Officer Beyerstedt succumbed to injuries sustained the previous night when his patrol car crashed during a vehicle pursuit. Officer Beyerstedt and his training officer were attempting to stop a reckless driver on I-94 when their patrol car left the roadway and struck a tree. Both officers were transported to a local hospital where Officer Beyerstedt died the next day from severe head injuries. Officer Hutchins survived.
