Description: Deputy Bassett was responding to a domestic disturbance call where an intoxicated male was attempting to illegally enter an occupied residence. While traveling northbound on Indiana Route 39, Deputy Bassett lost control of his department vehicle while attempting to negotiate a curve and struck a tree. Deputy Bassett suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
