Description: Deputy Bollinger was killed in a single-car automobile accident as he and another deputy returned from an assignment. While driving in the rain and under slick roads conditions, Deputy Thomas lost control of the department vehicle and hit a utility pole. Both men were transported to a local hospital where Deputy Bollinger was pronounced dead. Deputy Thomas was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
