Description: Deputy Blount was shot and killed as he executed a raid on a moonshine still in Bear Head, Florida. Deputy Blount and two other deputies went to investigate reports of an illegal still operation. When they arrived, they found the still in operation, and several suspects fleeing. While pursuing one of the suspects on foot, Deputy Blount was shot in the back with a twelve-gauge shotgun. Deputy Blount succumbed to his injuries the next morning.
