Description: Constable Beyette, with the assistance of Judge B.H. Dulaney, went to arrest two suspects who had stolen merchandise from a local garage. While transporting the suspects back to the jail, one of the suspects grabbed Constable Beyette's pistol and shot him in the head. The suspects fled the scene. Judge Dulaney was wounded but was able to drive Constable Beyette to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
