Description: Patrol Officer Brakes was shot as he and a fellow officer conducted a raid on a hotel in search of moonshine. As Officer Brakes entered the hotel, he was confronted by an intoxicated man. Officer Brakes was shot in the chest and died at the scene. His assailant was also fatally wounded and died the next day.
