Description: Patrolman Blumstein was fatally wounded in an exchange of gunfire with a gang of bank robbers. Patrolman Blumstein was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest and died of his injuries two days later. Six other officers were also wounded in the shootout but survived. Five suspects were arrested.
