Description: Officer Burmeister was heading South on E. 131st Street when a truck pulled out in front oh him, hurling him head first into the side of the truck. Officer Burmeister suffered a broken neck from the impact and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital. The driver of the truck was charged with manslaughter as a result of careless driving.
