Description: Sheriff Bond and Chief Boyer left the Orange Courthouse Sunday October 23, 1921, en route to serve an warrant on Walter Ware for illegally operating a still. When the two law men failed to return the following day, a posse was formed to search for them. The deceased bodies of Sheriff Bond and Chief Boyer were found one mile from the suspects home in a pool of blood. Sheriff Bond had been shot once through the heart and Chief Boyer's body was riddled with gunshots.
